Aspiring young dancers get a taste of stardom as JPMorgan Chase brings the Radio City Rockettes to schools across New York
In the first of the "JPMorgan Chase Celebrates Kids" events, on Tuesday, October 14th, the Radio City Rockettes will visit New York City public school kids interested in dance. From those visits, several children will then be invited to the second "JPMorgan Chase Celebrates Kids" event on Thursday, November 6th, which includes performing a recital for the Rockettes, viewing the first Radio City Christmas Spectacular show of the season, and decorating the JPMorgan Chase Holiday Tree that will remain in the Grand Lounge of Radio City Music Hall for the duration of the holiday season.
"It gives us great pleasure to see these children's faces light up as they watch the Rockettes and see the Christmas Spectacular, perhaps for the very first time," said Frederick Hill, JPMorgan Chase Executive Vice President. "Through our annual partnership with Radio City and Young Dancers in Repertory, we are delighted to bring this opportunity to both entertain and inspire our young guests."
"The Rockettes have inspired countless young, aspiring dancers throughout the years and The Christmas Spectacular has created holiday traditions for millions of families for more than 75 years," added Howard Kolins, Executive Producer of Radio City Entertainment's Christmas Spectacular. "We couldn't imagine a better way to touch the lives of children in our community than by giving the gift of dance."
The details for the two events are:
On October 14th, a group of Rockettes will visit PS 134 in Manhattan (293 East Broadway), PS 105 (1031 59th Street) in Brooklyn and the Young Dancers in Repertory's Center for Dance Studies located at 231 ? 60th Street in Brooklyn. During the visit, children will meet the Rockettes, listen to their experiences, ask questions, learn signature steps and dance with them.
On Thursday, November 6th, several children will visit Radio City Music Hall to take part in a private meet and greet-with several Rockettes in their rehearsal studio. They will then have the opportunity to practice the dance steps they learned from the talented ladies during the October visits, and then perform short recitals. Afterwards, the children will view the Radio City Christmas Spectacular?s first show of the season.
Also on that day, the children will bring their personally decorated ornaments made in school to hang on the JPMorgan Chase Holiday Tree, which will remain in the Grand Lounge of Radio City Music Hall for the duration of the Christmas season.
