New York, November 26, 2007 - JPMorgan Chase announced today that it has appointed Barry Zubrow as its Chief Risk Officer and a member of the firm's Operating Committee. Mr. Zubrow will oversee all risk management for the company - working closely with senior risk managers and business heads around the firm, and advising the senior leadership team on risk strategy and policy. He will report to Jamie Dimon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Zubrow joins JPMorgan Chase from the private investment management firm ITB LLC, where he was President. He has also been serving as a senior advisor to New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine on a broad range of fiscal and policy matters, and he has been chairing the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. Prior to that, from 1979 to 2004, he was an executive at Goldman Sachs - working in a variety of senior-level investment banking, credit and risk roles. His most recent role before leaving Goldman was serving as its Chief Administrative Officer.
"The Chief Risk Officer function is a critical role for our company, and I'm thrilled that we've attracted someone of Barry's caliber and experience to this position," said Dimon. He added, "In addition to his distinguished work in public service, Barry has excelled in critical senior functions at Goldman Sachs, acting as Chief Credit Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and co-Chairman of the Risk Committee."
Zubrow added, "JPMorgan Chase is a first-class organization and a true leader in global financial services. I'm very excited about working with Jamie and other senior leaders to build on the firm's successes and to help make the company even stronger."
