Tokyo, September 25, 2001 - Jardine Fleming Investment Trust and Advisory Company Limited (JFITAC), part of the JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management Group, announced that as of today it will operate under the new company name of J.P. Morgan Fleming Asset Management (Japan) Limited (J.P. Morgan Fleming).

JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management has been adopted as the brand name under which all J.P. Morgan Chase & Company asset management divisions worldwide will be marketed.

J.P. Morgan Fleming offers two equity investment approaches - JPMorgan approach and Fleming approach - which are distinctively independent from each other. J.P. Morgan Fleming's product portfolio also benefits from JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management Group's fixed income investment capability with its global network.

Keiichi Miki, president of J.P. Morgan Fleming said, "The new name reflects the fact that we are building on the strengths of two established asset management groups. Bringing together their expertise and distinct investment philosophies enables J.P. Morgan Fleming to offer a wide range of products to meet the needs of both institutional and individual investors."

J.P. Morgan Fleming will be quoted as "JPMF" in the investment trust columns of Japanese newspapers.
