Banc One Corporation Completes Charter and Systems Consolidation in Indiana

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 26, 1997 -- BANC ONE CORPORATION, (NYSE:ONE) reported today that it has completed the charter and systems consolidation of its eight affiliate banks throughout Indiana. The new single charter organization is known statewide as Bank One, Indiana, NA and is headquartered in Indianapolis.

Single statewide charters provide customers with full service access and streamline operations within each state. The remaining charters in Ohio will be consolidated in May 1997.
